CCC Announces New Faculty and Staff

Stephen Clark has joined CCC as Carpentry Instructor. Mr. Clark is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has lived in many areas of the United States as well as Alberta, Canada. He has been a licensed contractor for over 30 years and has experience in all aspects of construction including high-rise, residential, bridge, tunnel and power generation. Mr. Clark and his wife, Dorothea, have four children and live in Boiling Springs.

 

Kristen Self has been promoted to Secretary, Academic Programs. Mrs. Self attended Burns High School and is a 2009 graduate of Cleveland Community College. She has been employed at CCC as part-time office assistant and work-study in Academic Programs. Originally from Morganton, Mrs. Self holds an Associate in Applied Science degree in Office Systems Technology and Office Systems Technology/Legal from CCC. In 2008, she was named Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges and was awarded the 2005 and 2009 Graduate Award in Office Systems Technology and Office Systems Technology/Legal. She and her husband, Stephen, reside in Casar and have three children.

 

Tyra Silvers has joined CCC as a Counselor in the Student Success Center. Mrs. Silvers is originally from Shelby and is a graduate of Burns High School. She was previously Co-Director of Domestic Violence Shelter in Burnsville, North Carolina. She has also served as Career Counselor at Mayland Community College and as Community Mental Health Therapist for RHA Health Services. She holds a Master of Arts and EDS in Mental Health Counseling from Gardner Webb University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UNC-Asheville. Mrs. Silvers was just recently chosen to represent the professional and business community of Burnsville, North Carolina, in the Biltmore 2010 Honors Edition of Who's Who Among Executive and Professional Women. She and her husband currently live in Burnsville with their two daughters.

 

Wesley Upton has joined CCC as Welding Instructor. He is a 1998 graduate of Burns High School and has been employed at CCC for 9 years as an adjunct welding instructor. Mr. Upton received his welding diploma from CCC and has 14 years welding experience in fabricator, structural steel, and pipe welding. He resides in Fallston with his wife, Shelley, and they have two children.
